Let the Adventure begin with the 2024 Kids' Summer Reading Program

This program is designed for kids up to 12 years of age. Starting June 3rd through July 31st, you will receive a prize for every 250 minutes read. Complete the program by reading 1,000 minutes to receive a special completion prize and be entered into the grand prize drawings. But don't stop there! You will earn an additional drawing entry for every 250 minutes you read past the completion goal.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

How it Works:

Read a book to your child. Any book will do. The goal is to have read 1,000 books before they enter kindergarten. Does it sound hard? Not really if you think about it. If you read just 1 book a night, you will have read about 365 books in a year. That is 730 books in two years and 1,095 books in three years. If you consider that most children start kindergarten at around 5 years of age...well, you can do the math.

Log the titles of the books you have read (yes, you can repeat books) into the app to track your progress on the game board, earn badges and unlock fun games! We will be here to help you along the way and cheer you on. Come visit us at the library whenever your child reaches a 100-book milestone to receive a surprise and see their progress on our Wall of Honor. We can always help keep you supplied with books!
